Mastercard Standard

This is the worst possible rate category for Mastercard. You’ll want to avoid “standard” rates with proper processing procedures

Standard rates are the worst rates that you can receive on Mastercard transactions. Typically, you’ll receive Standard rates when your sales don’t meet any of the basic qualifications. This can include not submitting AVS data, not settling your sales on time, or failing to submit otherwise required data, based on your merchant type. You want to avoid this rate classification at all costs!

Qualifications

There are no qualifications for Standard rates. This is the worst rate category you can receive, and as such, this is where sales will go if they don’t meet any other better, lower-rate structure categories. As a business, you want to be doing everything you can to avoid letting your sales assess at the Standard rates.
